INVESTING IN PROPERTY
Picking the best investment loan
There’s a lot to know about investments, such as how to choose the best NZ investment loan that meets your needs and goals. A good investment loan can make property investment in Auckland and other parts of New Zealand a much smoother process.

Investing for retirement
So you have worked hard and now you have considerable equity in the home you live in. However, what about your retirement life?
While it’s great to have a mortgage-free property when you retire, an investment property gives you the option of not having to work that 9-5 job any longer.
Have you calculated what income you would need in order to live a comfortable life when you retire? Most New Zealanders haven’t and if you haven’t either, don’t worry. We can help you figure it out. Let’s get together and calculate exactly what you need.
calculate your spare equity
One of the first things to do before beginning the process of buying an investment property is to calculate your existing equity. This will tell you if you can borrow to buy a property.
Let’s take a scenario. Your property is worth $1,000,000 and you have $500,000 of mortgage remaining on it. Let’s calculate the equity you have and what value of property you can buy.
$300,000/30% equity would allow you to buy an investment property up to a maximum of $1,000,000.
Now that you know the standard calculation you can apply the same formula to determine your current position.
